LEARN ESSENTIAL COOKERY BASICS
Refine your cooking talents by mastering the basic chef practices. After learning basic knife skills and vegetable-cutting techniques you will be shown how to break down a whole chicken so you can SAVE MONEY on daily shopping bills. Hola! This fun-filled Mex-I-Can Fiesta Class is a relaxed dive into the flavours of Mexico, by the end of the afternoon, you’ll want to throw your own at-home Taco Party loaded with all the tools to make it a bloody great success.
The Mexican lesson is kicked off by making a quick and versatile condiment ‘Cebollas Curtidas’ (Mexican Pickled Onions). Then you will transform into a Mexican master, learning 3 types of tortillas, and cooking fresh tasty rustic corn chips. Savour the tortillas eating them as scrumptious tacos, and taste fantastic fresh salsas with your corn chips expanding your Mexican cooking repertoire.

Advanced Basic Cookery Class
GOT THE BASICS DOWN PAT?
Build on your passion and fine-tune your love for cooking today. Grow your talents working closely together with a qualified chef and see first-hand some of the trickier elements of cookery! Ask questions while you’re shown and explained carefully step-by-step how to make a fresh hollandaise sauce, and poach an egg perfectly. You’ll be obsessed with homemade eggs benny every Sunday after this tutorial and yes, you’ll enjoy a late afternoon brunch! We will also make a beautiful jus, shuck and eat fresh oysters & fillet a whole fish. Plus learn how to “pin-bone” the fish fillet without damaging it and remove the skin professionally. Lastly, there will be tips on presenting food and how best to garnish & plate your food.

Who's the Chef/Tutor
Head Chef – Bec Telford or Bex-da-chef or El Becco!
Bec has gained a wealth of knowledge having worked in some of the top Australian restaurants over her 25-year career. After dropping out of school at 16, she dived into kitchens and completed her City & Guild Diploma of Culinary Arts while in N.Z in 1999 and has been busy cooking since. Seize the opportunity to tap into this vast food experience and ask any questions you may have.
Fun Fact: For 8.5 years Bec travelled & worked all around Australia in a 74 VW Kombi Van! 🙂
